The Freedom of Roscommon is a "fitting honour" to property developer Seán Mulryan.
Mr Mulryan, a native of Oran will receive the honour at a special event at Áras an Chontae next Tuesday.
Mulryan's Ballymore Group plan to make Athlone Ireland's first green city with a population of 100,000 by 2040.

He was previously awarded the Freedom of London in 2025.
