The almost €20 million sports facility planned for Roscommon town is expected to get the planning green light - after being backed by the council boss and the local community.
Mercy College Roscommon is among those who have given the project their full support.
Roscommon County Council plans to redevelop and extend the existing Roscommon Leisure Centre.
The indoor and outdoor project will be called iRos.
It includes an indoor sports hall, gym, outdoor football pitches, a boules area and outdoor play park.
It will cost around €19.5 million.
Local councillors will decide whether to grant planning approval, under the part 8 process.
In April, the council asked for public consultation, and the submissions were broadly very positive.
Roscommon Leader Partnership, Roscommon Town Team and Mercy College Roscommon all strongly backed the plans.
Roscommon County Council chief executive, Shane Tiernan, is recommending no changes as a result of the submissions, and that it proceeds as planned.
He says iRos would provide much-needed sporting and recreational facilities in Roscommon town.
A special meeting of Roscommon Municipal District has been called for this morning.
Councillors will review the chief executive's report on the submissions, and his recommendation, and will decide whether to grant planning permission.
