Lisa Joy was speaking at the launch of a five-year strategy aimed at increasing visitor numbers. The development of Lough Key Forest Park in Boyle and Hodson Bay near Kiltoom are key elements of the plan.

However, a shortage of hotels and other places to stay has been highlighted by local councillors in recent months. Lisa Joy says the local authority is keen to add extra beds for those visiting the county:
