Roscommon TD calls for some plastics to be banned

The Dáil will today debate plans to ban single-use cups, packaging and containers.

Under the government's legislation, they'd also have permission to put an environmental levy on certain plastic items.

It'd also allow local authorities to use CCTV to catch illegal dumpers.

Independent TD and former environment minister, Denis Naughten, says certain plastic items should be banned.
