A Co. Roscommon secondary school is already at capacity after only moving into a new school building five years ago. Coláiste Chiaráin is based in Summerhill on the outskirts of Athlone. It was founded in 2017 following the amalgamation of the all-boys St Aloysius College and the all-girls St Joseph's College Summerhill. The new state of the art school building opened in 2020 and now caters for over 1,000 students. Principal Brendan Waldron gave this update on the Co. Roscommon school:
