Roscommon hospital resuming limited number of services

Good progress has been made on the HSE's IT system since the Cyber attack but there is still a lot of work to be done in retrospective inputting of patient information taken over the last fortnight

Roscommon Hospital Manager Anne Garvey says the facility is now in a position to resume some services.

It comes as 96% of the almost 5,000 servers used by the HSE have been screened and protected since the recent Cyber attack, and around half of all staff devices such as laptops and phones have been also been screened.

Anne Garvey  says they are currently issuing appointments for outpatient clinics, and day case procedures, including endoscopy, and patients should come to the hospital for these appointments.

The hospitals radiology services are still impacted and patients attending the Injury Unit may face delays because diagnostic services may take longer than usual.

Patients who have appointments for X-ray, CT and ultrasound may also face delays.

Ongoing updates on service disruptions will be provided on hse.ie and on saolta.ie.
