Roscommon homeowners living near solar farm raise flooding concerns

Local councillor Michael Holland raised the issue at this week's meeting of Roscommon Municipal District.

Some homeowners in Roscommon have raised concerns after recent rainfall has led to flooding on their properties. Residents near Creevyquinn on the outskirts of Roscommon town say it was caused by a solar farm in the area. The development by Power Capital Renewable Energy Limited was given the go ahead by An Bord Pleanala four years ago.

Local councillor Michael Holland raised the issue at this week's meeting of Roscommon Municipal District. He told the meeting that since the development started water is running out onto the nearby road. He's now called on the developers to take measures in order to safeguard nearby homes:
