Roscommon council to increase business rates by 5pc next year

The proposal has been made by Roscommon County Council and has been agreed by the coalition that controls the council.

Roscommon businesses are set for a major blow with commercial rates to rise by 5 per cent next year.

The proposal has been made by Roscommon County Council and has been agreed by the coalition that controls the council.

It will be officially signed off at their budget meeting tomorrow.

The council says rates haven’t increased in Roscommon in 20 years and inflation has risen by around 39 per cent during that time.
