Roscommon choir to perform at famine commemoration in Liverpool
The Roscommon Solstice Choir visited Percy French's grave in Formby, Liverpool, today

The walk will start at 10.30am from Clarence Dock, where 1.3 million Irish emigrants arrived during the famine.

The Roscommon Solstice Choir is performing at the International Famine Walk Commemoration Service in Liverpool on Sunday.

The walk will start at 10.30am from Clarence Dock, where 1.3 million Irish emigrants arrived during the famine.

It will finish at the Irish Famine Memorial at St Luke’s Bombed-Out Church, with Ireland’s UK ambassador Martin Fraser taking part.

The walkers will bring commemorative bronze shoes to the church.

Musical director of Roscommon Solstice Choir, Eimear Reynolds, says they’re delighted to be involved for the first time.
