A well known local care home is seeking retention permission for a range of works at their Roscommon centre.
Oakwood Private Nursing Home in Ballaghaderreen offers long and short term care for 56 adults over the age of 18 including people with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or dementia.
Management is seeking the permission for the addition of two fire escape stairwells on the east and west of the building, 12 new bedrooms and four new windows.

Also included in the retention plans is the relocation of the existing boiler house and an increase in the floor area of the centre's oratory by 5 square metres.
Roscommon County Planners will decide on the application in August.
