Roscommon athletics track could be complete in 2026 after funding boost

The new 400m track, which will include provision for field sports, recently received planning approval from Roscommon County Council.

A long-awaited athletics track is expected to be up and running in Roscommon within the next two years after a major funding boost.

Lisnamult Residents' Association will receive just over €387,000 for the eight-lane IAAF standard track.

It follows this week's Community Sport Facilities Fund announcement, which saw Roscommon clubs benefit to the tune of €4.8 million.
