Revenue officers have seized contraband worth more than €1.27 million in a series of intelligence-led and risk-based operations, including the Midlands.
The enforcement actions resulted in significant drug, tobacco, alcohol, and counterfeit goods seizures, along with dozens of weapons.
Revenue says the detections reflect its continued focus on tackling smuggling and shadow-economy activity nationwide.
Among the most substantial finds was 60kg of herbal cannabis, valued at over €1,175,500, discovered in multiple operations.
Additional detections included:
- 233g of Butane Honey Oil, valued at €4,660
- 250.2g of synthetic cannabinoids, valued at more than €5,000
- A range of other illicit drugs worth over €11,650
These parcels originated from the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, the UK, and France, and were destined for addresses nationwide.
Detector dogs Ciara, Sam, and Alfie assisted in the operations.
Investigations are ongoing and that the seizures form part of continuous efforts to disrupt illegal trade, smuggling, and related criminal activity.
