Residents in a county Leitrim housing estate have raised a number of serious concerns about their living conditions. Those living in An Gairdín in Keshcarrigan say they are dealing with leaking sewage, collapsing roads and unsafe ground. The estate, made up of 16 homes was built in the mid 2000s on land described locally as deep, soft bog. While the houses were anchored into firmer ground, the same approach was not used for the surrounding infrastructure. One of those affected, Maria Hoey has been speaking to Shannonside FM:
Maria says the situation has put the residents in an uncomfortable position:
