There are renewed calls for a hotel in Boyle after its successful staging of a major cycling event yesterday. The end of a stage of Rás Tailteann took place in the north Roscommon town, for the first time in 31 years. Several coffee shops and restaurants catered for the surge in visitors - but there's been no hotel in Boyle for the past 15 years. Local Sinn Fein councillor Leah Cull says the town badly needs one:
