Residential burglaries in the north western Garda region fell to fewer than two per day during summer 2025, as part of Operation Thor's latest phase.
Nationally, burglaries dropped by 15.5% compared with last summer, and by 25% since 2022.
Just 315 incidents were recorded in the north west between April and September, one of the lowest levels in the country.

Gardaí made over 900 burglary-related arrests nationwide in the same period.
The winter phase of Operation Thor begins today, targeting organised crime groups during the darker months.
