R299 in Leitrim reopens following morning crash

It's understood the vehicle struck a cow that had escaped onto the road

The R299 near Foxborough in Leitrim has reopened this morning following a crash.

The incident occurred close to Drumsna and involved a single vehicle and an animal.

According to Gardaí, a vehicle collided with cattle that had escaped onto the road.

The occupant of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
