Public meeting taking place in Roscommon to oppose more refugee centres

The Roscommon Says No to IPAS group says it's concerned another attempt will be made for a centre in the area.

A public meeting is taking place in Roscommon town this evening to oppose more refugee centres opening in the area. Last week the Department of Migration turned down an offer to open an IPAS centre on Goff Street. But tonight's meeting is still going ahead in the Coachman's Inn on Castle Street at 8 o'clock.

The Roscommon Says No to IPAS group says it's concerned another attempt will be made for a centre in the area. Former Roscommon Cathaoirleach, Michael Scally, from Ballaghaderreen, says he's against opening more IPAS centres in the county:
