A public meeting will take place in Roscommon next week to oppose a proposed wind farm in the Kilglass area. It comes after Ballyfeeney Green Energy Ltd made a design inquiry to Roscommon County Council. The request was issued on the 17th of April and includes a proposal for six wind turbines in the Ballyfeeney and Tully areas. A group called Ballyfeeney Against Turbines has been established and is urging local residents to attend a public meeting on Wednesday, June 18th. That meeting will take place in Kilglass GAA Club from 7.30 pm. Acting Chairperson of the anti-windfarm group, OIiver Kiernan, says they want to inform the wider community:
