A public meeting will take place in Ballymahon tonight after a deal which could see an anaerobic digester developed in the area.
Shareholders at Ballymahon Mart recently voted in favour of leasing a site to Nephin Renewable Gas for a biomethane plant.
An anaerobic digester uses micro-organisms to break down organic materials such as manure, food waste, and sewage sludge to produce renewable biogas.
Some local councillors have expressed their support for the lease deal, saying it would increase employment in the area.
Ballymahon Community Information Partnership says it will hold an information evening in Cooney's Hotel this evening from 8pm.
