Public encouraged to help keep Athlone clean this Good Friday

People are asked to donate an hour or two of their time to clean up their local area.

Members of the public are being encouraged to take part in a litter pick and clean-up in Athlone this morning.
Athlone Tidy Towns is inviting local householders, families and businesses to get involved in the Good Friday event.
People are asked to donate an hour or two of their time to clean up their local area.

Green bags and litter pickers will be placed at nine drop off points in Athlone.
Drop off points for litter include opposite Shine's Pub in Baylough, Cornamaddy National School, and outside Athlone Training Centre.
The town was awarded a national gold medal for the fourth year in a row in the 2024 Tidy Towns awards.
Padraig Higgins, a member of the local Tidy Towns, says all help is welcome and urged those interested to get in touch with the group:
