A property has been secured in South Leitrim for a much-needed residential care home for people with disabilities. The news was confirmed today that the property has been fully acquired for use following a long battle for the service.
Fianna Fáil councillor Gary Prior says the property in Fenagh has been badly needed for the last number of years. Councillor Prior says work has been ongoing to ready the house to host new service users:
The Fianna Fail Councillor praised the families for their dedication in fighting for the service. He says it was wrong that Leitrim was one of only two counties in the country without a full time residential care for young adults with disabilities.
