Power outage in Longford affects more than 1000 customers this evening

Over 1000 households and businesses in the Longford town and some surrounding areas are still without power this evening.

An outage began just before four o' clock this afternoon and it's understood 1,175 customers are affected.

The ESB says they hope to restore power by half past seven this evening.
