Waterways Ireland says a power fault is affecting boating facilities at Coosan Point near Athlone. It has advised users of the Shannon Navigation that a service block in the area is currently out of order. There may also be some disruption to electricity supplies at jetties at Coosan also.
The ESB are currently working on the issue and Waterways Ireland says it expects the service block to be back in operation by the weekend. In a statement to Shannonside News, the water body says it regrets any inconvenience caused to waterways users at this time.
