Leitrim has become the first county in Ireland to get a dedicated dementia-specific day care service.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland has opened the centre in St Patrick's Community Hospital in Carrick-on-Shannon.
It has capacity for eight people and is open every Friday. Nurse manager Michelle Shiel spoke to Eoghan Murphy about it earlier.
