Plight of Leitrim student with muscular dystrophy raised in Dail

The issue of the obstacles faced by parents of children with special needs as regards accessing education was raised in the Dail today by Leitrim TD Martin Kenny

It's unacceptable parents of children with special educational needs must fight tooth and nail for support.

That's according to Leitrim TD Martin Kenny who believes the system is broken and attention must be given to the allocation of Special Needs Assistants to local schools.

Speaking in the Dail today Deputy Kenny spoke of a Drumshanbo father whose son has muscular dystrophy.
