Irish Rail has applied for planning permission to upgrade facilities at a local railway station.
Iarnród Eireann is seeking to carry out the works at Athlone railway station.
The plans call for a single-storey extension within the premises to provide enhanced staff welfare facilities and improve public toilets.

The transport body are also looking to install a 'Changing Places' facility for people with disabilities and add additional fire safety measures and evacuation infrastructure.
A decision on all the proposed developments is due in November.
