Plans are being sought for the creation of a new community park in Ballintober.
A planning application has been sent for consideration by Roscommon County Planners for the work at the old school house in the village.
The Ballintober Development Association plans to construct the new community park featuring walk ways, landscaping, seating, shelter and a play area on the site of the existing old schoolhouse building.

Permission is being sought to modify the site entrance to the protected structure and the creation of an onsite parking area
Plans also include the construction of a multi use games area along with associated perimeter fencing and lighting.
County planners will decide on the issue in January.
