Planning refusal for Kiltoom housing development appealed

Aidan Kelly was refused permission in February to construct 24 homes in Kiltoom, comprised of 2 storey detached dwellings all associated site development works.

Roscommon County Council's decision to refuse planning permission for a housing development near Athlone has been appealed to the higher planning authority.

Aidan Kelly was refused permission in February to construct 24 homes in Kiltoom, comprised of 2 storey detached dwellings all associated site development works. County planners blocked the application over issues including that the design concept, layout and the number of units did not accord to the Roscommon County Development Plan. It was also decided by the local authority that the plans did not integrate and relate with the wider area.

An appeal has now been lodged by the developer to An Bord Pleanála, with a decision due in July.
