Planning permission has been approved to replace a 24-metre monopole with a new telecommunications structure near Elphin.
On Tower Limited had applied to Roscommon county council in June to replace the existing 24-metre monopole structure with a new 24-metre multi-user lattice tower telecommunications support structure with headframe, carrying antenna and dishes together with associated ground equipment cabinets and associated site works.
The tower is located at Cleenraugh Townland, Elphin.

Just one submission was made from the Irish Aviation Authority which stated the tower would not need to be 'obstacle lighted' under their regulations
The application was approved subject to nine conditions.
