Planning permission has been granted to change a popular former food store in Carrick on Shannon into guest accommodation.
Kelly's Foodstore was one of Leitrim's longest serving businesses before it closed its doors last year.
It had served the public on the Dublin Road in Carrick on Shannon for 36 years and was run by Martin and Teresa Kelly.
The shop was sold in June 2024, with the new owners Taustop Limited, seeking to change the use of the building from retail to guest accommodation.
The plans include the construction of a first floor extension and the demolition of a rear annex.
Leitrim County Planners granted planning permission with seven conditions attached, including one rule that the building most only be used for short term tourism guest accommodation.
