Investigations are underway after the discovery of the bodies of dozens of dead frogs in the mall park in Longford town centre.
The bodies of the amphibians were discovered by people put for a walk by the popular duck pond area of the Albert Reynolds Peace Park today.
No obvious reason for their deaths has yet been identified and it’s understood that a number of children were upset by the deaths of the animals today.

Longford County Council has been informed and it is not yet clear if their deaths are linked to an environmental issue, or are from natural causes.
