Planning permission has been granted for a major strategic housing development in Mullingar.
An application for the construction of 130 new residential units was granted by An Bord Pleanála this week.
Plans include the demolition of the existing buildings at the site on the Ballinderry Road in Mullingar and the construction of the homes.

Due to the size of the development, the application is classified as a strategic housing development, with the process bypassing Westmeath County Council to be considered by the higher planning authority.
Permission was granted to Condorf Investments ICAV with a number of conditions attached.
