Over €700,000 has been collected by speed vans in the Shannonside region in the past two and a half years.
New figures show the speed cameras are operating at a loss.
These figures were released to Ireland South MEP Cynthia Ní Mhúrchú, who has questioned whether it's the best way to tackle speeding.
They show gardaí have collected €32 million in fines using speed cameras since 2023.
However, it cost €44 million to use private speed camera operators in that time.
A breakdown shows over €344,000 in fines was collected in that two-and-a-half-year period in Co Leitrim.
Almost €212,000 was collected in Co Roscommon - with 126,000 euro in the Roscommon Garda District and 85,000 in Castlerea.
€166,000 was collected in Co Longford - with almost €89,000 in the Granard district and nearly € 78,000 in Longford town's district.
Elsewhere, almost €574,000 was collected in Athlone.
