Over €200,000 earmarked for protection of local monuments

The new wave of the Community Monuments Fund was announced this afternoon by Ministers James Browne and Christopher O'Sullivan.

Over €200,000 has been earmarked for the protection of local archaeological monuments.
The new wave of the Community Monuments Fund was announced this afternoon by Ministers James Browne and Christopher O'Sullivan.

It includes €125,000 for Co. Leitrim, which will go towards essential repairs and conservation works at the Old Church of Ireland in Manorhamilton and Manorhamilton Castle.
While Cloonshanville Friary in Co. Roscommon has been awarded €100,000.
