Over €140,000 worth of drugs have been seized in Athlone.
The discovery was made following an examination of parcels at an address in Athlone by Revenue Officers 7kg of herbal cannabis was seized with an estimated value of €146,800. The illicit drugs were discovered in parcels originating from Spain and were destined for addresses in Dublin. The seizure was part of a total of €860,000 worth of drugs seized across Dublin and Athlone in recent days.
Investigations are ongoing.
