Over 600 first-time buyer purchases were made across the Shannonside region last year. It comes at a 3.8% decrease since 2023.
Revenue data provided a breakdown of first-time buyer purchases recorded across the country. In the Shannonside region, 200 homes in Mullingar bought by first-time buyers and 163 in Athlone.
Meanwhile a total of 136 properties across Roscommon, Castlerea, and Boyle were bought by people purchasing their first home. That is followed by 47 houses bought in Carrick-on-Shannon in the lead-up to 2025.
In total, 653 properties were purchased by first-time buyers across the region, a drop of 3.8% compared to 2023. The highest median price for a dwelling in the 12 months to January 2025 was €322,000 in Mullingar, while the lowest median price was €180,000 in Carrick-on-Shannon.
