Over 48,000 patients in the Shannonside region hold a GP visit card.
Figures published by the Department of Health show an over 13,600 increase in the figure compared with 2023.
The visit card's eligibility is based on income thresholds and family circumstances.
Children under eight years of age and those aged 70 or more are automatically eligible for a card.
As of the 1st of August, there were over 23,875 recipients in Longford-Westmeath, up from over 16,500 in 2023.
Roscommon's figures also rose from just shy of 6,900 to over 8,900.
While 15,718 cards have been issued in Sligo-Leitrim, compared to over 11,300 in 2023.
