New figures from the CSO break down the number and type of industry's active in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon.
4,535 people were working in construction as of 2021, with over 2,000 registered businesses locally.

Roscommon had the highest level of construction employment, followed by Longford and Leitrim.
Nationally, 170,400 people were working in the industry in 2021, with that number expected to increase significantly by the end of 2023.
