Over 400 new homes were completed last year in the Shannonside region. The figures were released in a new report from the CSO today. Roscommon seen the most new dwellings completed in the region last year with 227. 89 of those were in the Athlone Municipal District whilst 84 were completed in the Boyle MD. 100 new homes were completed in Co. Longford last year with the Granard Local Electoral Area accounting for 47 of that total.
94 dwellings were completed in 2025 in South Leitrim, with 55 homes completed in the Carrick on Shannon Municipal District. Nationally, more than 36 thousand new homes were completed last year. That's an increase of 20 per cent on 2024. The CSO says it's the highest number of home completions since the series began in 2011.
