There were 253 new electric car registrations in 2023 across the Shannonside region. The figures are up from 198 registrations in 2022. Roscommon saw the highest amount of new electric car registrations for 2023 with 123. This represents an increase of 15% on 2022 figures.
Longford had 72 new electric registrations in 2023, an increase of over 56% on the previous year. Meanwhile, Leitrim saw 58 electric car registrations last year, an increase of nearly 29% on 2022's figures. Nationally there was a 45% increase on new electric car registrations in 2023 with 22,789. Dublin accounted for almost half of the nationwide figures with a 48% share of registrations.
