Over 180 eviction notices were issued by landlords in the Shannonside region in the first three months of the year.
That's according to the latest data from the Residential Tenancies Board.
Under new reforms, landlords can only re-set the rent where it is below market rate at the end of each six-year tenancy.
However, this is only if the previous tenant left voluntarily, or breached the tenancy agreement.
Locally, 186 eviction notices were issued from January to March.
69 took place in Roscommon, 65 in Longford and in Leitrim, there were 52.
Nationally, the RTB received 7,062 notices of termination during the first quarter of 2026.
This is the highest number recorded since the board began collecting the data in 2023.
60 per cent of notices were issued because landlords planned to sell their properties.
While eviction notices peaked in February, the number fell again in March.
