Sinn Fein is demanding the Government immediately increase the back to school allowance.
It's bringing a motion on the matter forward in the Dail later - saying parents are already dreading the bills for September.
Education spokesperson Donnchada O'Laoghaire says he wants to see the allowance increased by 50pc for those who already get it.
