Figures released to a local TD shows nearly one in three members of staff leave large private childcare services each year on average. The statistics provided to Roscommon-Galway TD Claire Kerrane show average staff turnover in 2023 was 31 percent.
That figure climbs to as high as 54 percent in Carlow, and just under that in Wicklow. Chairperson of the Federation of Early Childhood Providers, Elaine Dunne, says it's an issue among all services in the sector:
