One in five teenagers in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon have tried cannabis before, according to a new study.
Research by University College Cork and the HSE also found teens with hobbies such as sports, volunteering or creative outlets were less likely to use the drug.
Teenagers with no extracurricular activities are twice as likely to use cannabis.
