The Chairperson of North West Simon Community says efforts to secure Government funding to save the charity were unsuccessful. The North West Simon Community branch confirmed this week that it would cease operations in the coming weeks. The volunteer board said it would now focus on transferring its properties to approved housing bodies or local authorities.
North West Simon Community Chair Thomas Pringle said despite extensive efforts, Government support was not forthcoming. Speaking to Shannonside News, the Donegal TD said it was devastating news for those who relied on the service.
