North West hospice says a funding announcement of 350,000 euro will help to bridge a huge gap in the resources required to deliver palliative

North West hospice says a funding announcement of 350,000 euro will help to bridge a huge gap in the resources required to deliver palliative care services in Leitrim.

It's one of a number of hospice services that have been awarded once-off funding from the Department of Health to help with providing care through Covid 19.

Bernadette McGarvey of North West hospice says they require over €1.3 million each year to provide support to patients and their families.

She says the community effort in achieving that target has been decimated this year.
