Plans have been lodged for a major energy plant in Ballaghaderreen - after a similar application was rejected.
It involves a battery-energy storage system.
In November 2024, Grid System Services applied for a 10-year permission to develop the facility at Ballyoughter in Ballaghaderreen.
The development would have consisted of 44 battery blocks, with a projected life span of 35 years.
The site compound was proposed to consist of the construction of enclosed system on a 2.3 hectare site.
Roscommon County Council refused permission, largely on traffic and public-safety concerns.
There were strong objections in the local community.
A fresh application has now been made by same company, Grid System Services.
It also includes 44 battery blocks at Ballyoughter in Ballaghaderreen.
A notice was erected at the site last week and the application has now been lodged with the council.
