A new parish priest has been appointed to the east Galway area.
The Archbishop of Tuam, Michael Neary, has today confirmed that Very Rev Patrick Mooney, who is the current parish priest in Glenamaddy/Williamstown is to retire.
His role will be assumed by the current curate of Achill, Rev Eugene O'Boyle, who will be taking over as parish priest.

The diocesan appointment which will take effect from Friday 25 September.
