A new arts festival for young people by young people spearheaded by a Longford Theatre has launched across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region this weekend.
The 2021 Lasta festival will take place over the next week, in 8 venues across the country.
The festival is based on an original project delivered by Backstage Theatre Longford last year. The 10-day festival includes theatre, dance, visual art, music, film, spoken word along with other multi-disciplinary events.

The festival is designed to showcase and encourage the wide pool of talent among young people across the region.
Eimear Tyrrell is a young curator with Backstage Theatre, she says the expansion of the event from last year is very exciting.
