New initiative urges farmers to have financial affairs in order

Embrace began over 7 years ago.

A local financial advisor is urging farmers to have their personal and business affairs in order in the event of an accident or sudden death.

It's part of a new mentoring programme called Embrace which assists farm families affected by death and illness.

IFAC'S David Leydon is a member of the initiatives steering committee and he says there can be some financial consequences if a person passes away without their business in order.

Speaking to the Joe Finnegan the Roscommon native is urging all farmers to ensure they have a made a will.
